SAPTARI: Minister for Youth, Labor, and Employment, Ramji Yadav, has observed the under-construction cold storage facility, which has been incomplete for five years, in Deuri Bharuwa, Rajbiraj Municipality–15 today.
While inspecting the cold storage, Minister Yadav expressed his commitment to immediately take steps to bring the incomplete and dilapidated cold storage into operation.
He informed that the Ministry of Agriculture has allocated an additional budget required for this and instructed the concerned parties to submit the progress report so far to move forward with the unfinished work of the cold storage.
Minister Yadav suggested focusing on how to quickly complete the long-pending cold storage and make it operational for the benefit of farmers and the local people.
The locals had complained to the minister that the under-construction cold storage with a capacity of three thousand metric tons had started rusting and was deteriorating, but it had not been put into operation yet.
This cold store construction project was commissioned as per the then Madhes Province Government’s plan of constructing one cold store each in all the eight districts of the province.
The Sharma Ashish JV Pvt. Ltd. had in fiscal year 2017/18 secured the contract to build the cold storage for Rs 254 million 443 thousand and 959. (RSS)
