Lingden accuses RPP leaders of undermining party agenda from within

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chair Rajendra Lingden has accused some leaders within the party of undermining the agendas championed by the RPP, particularly its advocacy for the restoration of the monarchy and the establishment of a Hindu state.

Addressing the party’s Central Committee meeting, which began in Kathmandu on Friday, Lingden said certain leaders had worked against the party’s core agenda even as the RPP remained firmly committed to its ideological positions during difficult times.

He maintained that the party would not deviate from its principles and said there was no reason for members to remain uncertain about its direction.

While acknowledging that the party’s history and former leadership remain a source of pride, Lingden argued that there are also aspects of past leadership practices that should be left behind.

He warned that continuing to replicate old organizational habits would only perpetuate a cycle of party splits and reunifications.

According to Lingden, personal rivalries and ego-driven politics have not only weakened the RPP but have also contributed to broader political instability in the country.

The RPP chairman also announced that the party is proposing to hold its general convention on December 12, 13 and 14, expressing confidence that the gathering would deliver a new political message to the nation.

During the meeting, Central Election Committee Coordinator Toran Bahadur Gurung presented directives related to elections, active membership, and organizational-level polls. Likewise, RPP General Secretary and Secretariat Chief Rajendra Gurung presented the party secretariat’s report.
