14-year-old girl missing for nine days in Parbat

PARBAT: A 14-year-old girl from Deupur, Modi Rural Municipality-2 in Parbat, has been missing for the past nine days.

The missing girl, Ritika Jaisi, went missing on April 9 while returning home from her maternal uncle’s house in Dhairing, Jaljala Rural Municipality-7.

According to police, she was last confirmed to have boarded a vehicle from Milan Chowk along the Maldhunga–Beni road toward Patichaur in Modi Rural Municipality. However, she has not been in contact since.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Bijay Yadav said the search operation has been intensified and all subordinate police units have been mobilized with her description to continue the search.

Local teacher Bhumiraj Sharma said the girl did not get off at Patichaur as expected and was later seen getting off at Milan Chowk in Hemja, Ward No. 25 of Pokhara. Although she was reportedly dropped about 35 kilometers beyond the expected point, her whereabouts after that remain unknown.

Ritika has completed Grade 8 at Jananetra Secondary School in Deupur and was preparing to enroll in Grade 9.

Her family has appealed to the public to report to the nearest police station if she is seen or if anyone has information about suspicious individuals, and to assist in the search.
