KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has stated in its election manifesto that maintaining allegiance to a political party while drawing salary and benefits funded by taxpayers is unethical and punishable.
The party has also pledged not to form any sister organizations, taking a strong stance against the practice adopted by other political parties.
“We clearly commit not to form any kind of sister organizations. It is our firm belief that working in various state bodies while receiving salary and benefits paid from the taxes of the people, and showing loyalty not to the state and the Constitution but to one’s mother political party, is an unethical and punishable act against the nation,” the party stated in its manifesto.
Stating that state mechanisms are not branch offices of any political party, the RSP said that if it comes to government, it will implement necessary legal and institutional arrangements to end partisan affiliations among those serving in state bodies, including the civil service, teaching service, academia, security agencies, the judiciary and constitutional organs.
