RSP commits to transparent governance, universal health and education reforms

SURKHET: The Rastriya Swatantra Party has committed to eliminating corruption and promoting economic and social reforms in its election pledge unveiled from Surkhet, Karnali Province, ahead of the March 5 polls.

According to point 5 of the party’s pledge, Rastriya Swatantra Party will adopt zero tolerance toward all forms of corruption. The party also promised to make the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority independent and effective.

The party intends to enforce transparency by making government officials’ asset declarations public and ensuring swift action against corruption cases.

Economic transformation is a major focus of the pledge. Point 22 sets a target to create 500,000 jobs within five years through promoting startups, entrepreneurship, attracting foreign investment, and strengthening the digital economy. The party also emphasizes youth self-employment in agriculture, tourism, and information technology sectors.

Education reforms form a key part of the manifesto. Point 65 proposes establishing a Metrofund company for the education sector, while point 66 promises free education for up to three children per family. The party also plans to grant autonomy to universities, implement digital education systems, and enhance teacher capacity, aiming to raise Nepal’s education system to international standards.

In healthcare, the party has pledged to introduce universal health insurance. Point 77 ensures coverage for all citizens, while point 78 focuses on upgrading hospitals. Additional commitments include expanding rural health services, controlling medicine prices, and preparing infrastructure for pandemic management.

This comprehensive pledge reflects Rastriya Swatantra Party’s attempt to position itself as a reform-driven alternative for voters in the upcoming election.
