Partial westerly influence brings chance of light rain

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the country is currently experiencing the partial influence of westerly winds. Foggy conditions have been observed in some areas of the Terai region.

There is partial cloud cover over the high hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the weather remains clear across the rest of the country.

This afternoon, fog is expected in some parts of the Terai. The mountainous regions will remain generally cloudy, the hilly regions partly cloudy, and the rest of the country mostly clear. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in some areas of the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as at one or two locations in other hilly and mountainous areas.

Tonight, fog is likely to persist in parts of the Terai. Cloud cover is expected in the remaining mountainous areas, including Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. The remaining hilly regions will experience partial cloud cover, while the weather will remain clear elsewhere.

There is a chance of light rain and snowfall at one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

The Department has urged the general public and concerned authorities to remain alert while operating vehicles, carrying out agricultural activities, and engaging in daily routines, as fog in parts of the Terai and possible light rain and snowfall in some high hilly and mountainous areas may affect normal activities.
