TEXAS: The Nepali community in Texas has contributed Rs 21.517 million to support the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of people affected by the Bhote Koshi floods in Nepal.
According to the Nepali Consulate General in Dallas, the contributions came from several organizations and community groups. The Lama Foundation of Bedford donated Rs 10.7 million, India Bazaar of Fort Worth contributed Rs 3.817 million, One Step Foundation donated Rs 2.5 million, Avant Foundation contributed Rs 1.5 million, Palpali Sangam America donated Rs 1.5 million, and Nuwakot Picnic Group Texas contributed Rs 1.5 million.
Meanwhile, the Nepali Public Relations Committee (NPRC) America, a sister organization of the Nepali Congress, has separately announced that it sent US$66,195.88 collected from its 18 chapters to the Government of Nepal through the Nepali Congress’s Disaster Mitigation Fund.
