DPR prepared to widen Dhulikhel-Dapcha section of BP Highway

KAVREPALANCHOK: The Dhulikhel-Dapcha section of the BP Highway is set to be widened, with the existing 5.5-metre-wide road planned to be expanded to 10 metres and upgraded with blacktop.

The Division Road Office, Bhaktapur, said the 20-kilometre section would be widened as part of the road improvement plan.

Senior Divisional Engineer Suman Yogesh said a detailed project report (DPR) has been prepared for the road expansion, while a preliminary environmental assessment report is currently being prepared.

According to the office, the road widening project is estimated to cost Rs 3.79 billion.

Compensation has already been distributed to landowners for land acquired up to 15 metres on either side of the existing road to facilitate the expansion.
