Night-time traffic suspended on Hetauda-Kathmandu routes amid heavy rain risk

KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office, Makwanpur, has suspended night-time vehicular movement on routes connecting Hetauda and Kathmandu due to the risk of heavy rainfall.

According to police, traffic along the Hetauda–Deurali–Kulekhani–Pharping road has been halted from 8:00 pm on Saturday until 5:00 am on Sunday as a precautionary measure.

Similarly, vehicles traveling via the Kanti Lokpath have been stopped at Chaughada Bazaar in Hetauda from 6:00 pm on Saturday.

The administration has urged drivers and passengers to avoid unnecessary travel, warning that heavy rainfall could increase the risk of floods, landslides and other disasters. It has also requested the public to follow the instructions of security personnel.
