Revenue collection of around Rs 6 billion in 10 months



HETAUDA: The Inland Revenue Office, Hetauda, Makwanpur has collected around Rs 6 billion in revenue during the first 10 months of the current fiscal year 2082/83 BS.

According to Office Chief Yukta Prasad Subedi, revenue collection has increased by Rs 341.244 million compared to the same period of fiscal year 2081/82, largely due to intensified arrears recovery and market monitoring.

By Baisakh of the current fiscal year, revenue collection included Rs 345.6265 million from excise duty, Rs 124.96 million from income tax, Rs 827.7152 million from value added tax (VAT), Rs 519.259 million from health risk tax, Rs 68.377 million from interest tax, and Rs 159.88 million from rental tax.

Subedi said the annual revenue target for the current fiscal year has been set at Rs 844 million. According to SUbedi, over Rs 100 million in outstanding arrears have been recovered through initiatives such as taxpayer home visits, telephone and SMS follow-ups, and awareness campaigns on tax exemption facilities.
