Government focuses on good governance, prosperity: Minister Khanal

KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal has said that the government is working to achieve good governance and prosperity.

Speaking at a programme here on Saturday, the Minister said that the government’s efforts have already been launched toward that goal. The Minister, from the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), said that citizens’ votes for the party reflect their choice for transformation in the country, adding that the incumbent government would never let their votes go to waste.

He went on to say that controlling corruption is one of the government’s key priorities and that it has already formed a committee to investigate the property ownership of those who have assumed key public posts since 2062 BS.

“The government is toiling endlessly so that citizens can access state services and facilities conveniently,” the Minister said. He added that the government is concerned about the security of Nepali citizens not only at home but also abroad.

According to the Minister, the government will give special attention to accelerating economic prosperity and creating jobs. It aims to create an atmosphere conducive to trade and business.

The Minister, who is also the House of Representatives (HoR) member from Kathmandu Constituency-6, pledged to engage continuously to address issues related to drinking water, the sewage system, and roadways in his constituency.
