Resunga Airport to operate four weekly flights

KATHMANDU: Flights from Resunga Airport will now operate four times a week starting Saturday.

Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has announced a new schedule for flights between Kathmandu and Gulmi on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Previously, flights were operated only on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Station chief Suman Thapa said the number of weekly flights has increased after maintenance of the Twin Otter aircraft used by Nepal Airlines for domestic services.

He added that airfares have also increased following a rise in petroleum product prices. According to the newly implemented fare structure, the ticket price from Kathmandu to Resunga has been set at Rs 10,902, while the fare from Resunga to Kathmandu is Rs 10,702.

Earlier, NAC had set the fare at Rs 7,500 from Kathmandu to Resunga and Rs 7,300 from Resunga to Kathmandu.

Regular air services have been operating at Resunga Airport for the past five months, except during the rainy season and adverse weather conditions.

Nepal Airlines has been operating the Kathmandu–Resunga route using an 18-seater De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft.
