Helicopter crashes during landing in Khotang, no casualties reported



KATHMANDU: An Air Dynasty helicopter crashed in Khotang on Wednesday, though no human casualties have been reported.

The incident occurred in Balabensi of Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality-2 after the helicopter had flown from Kathmandu carrying the body of a local resident.

According to local authorities, the helicopter met with the accident after landing. It had already offloaded passengers and the dead body when the incident took place.

The helicopter overturned while being moved from a temporary helipad to an upper slope and eventually fell to a lower level, breaking into pieces.

The pilot is safe, while one person sustained minor injuries.

Locals said the exact cause of the crash is yet to be ascertained. Eyewitnesses reported that the pilot left the site following the incident.
