Harka resigns to contest HoR election from Sunsari-1



SUNSARI: Harka Raj Rai, also known as Harka Sampang, mayor of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City, has resigned from his post on Sunday evening. Rai is the central chairman of the Shram Sanskriti Party, which has been strengthening its presence in Koshi Province.

Rai, who won the mayoral election in 2079 carrying the “Lauro” symbol, resigned to contest the House of Representatives election from Sunsari-1. He submitted his resignation letter to Indra Bikram Begha, the deputy mayor elected from the Maoist Centre in Dharan.
