KATHMANDU: The government has spent around Rs 200 billion in the first two months of the current fiscal year 2026/27.
According to the Financial Comptroller General Office, total government expenditure reached Rs 199.83 billion as of September 16, accounting for 9.41 percent of the annual budget allocation.
Of the total allocation for recurrent expenditure, 9 percent has been spent so far. The government has allocated Rs 1.270 trillion for recurrent expenditure for the current fiscal year.
Similarly, Rs 431.10 billion has been allocated for capital expenditure, of which Rs 7.66 billion, or 1.78 percent, has been spent as of September 16.
The government has spent Rs 70.13 billion, or 16.59 percent, of the Rs 422.64 billion allocated for financial management in the current fiscal year, according to the Office.
