KATHMANDU: Nepal’s national men’s cricket team will play a T20 international series against Bangladesh for the first time, with all three matches scheduled to be played on home soil.
According to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), Nepal and Bangladesh will play the bilateral T20 International series on March 26, 28 and 30, 2027.
CAN Secretary Paras Khadka said the series will be dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives in the devastating Bhotekoshi floods.
“We are pleased to inform you that the cricket series between Nepal and Bangladesh scheduled for next March will be dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives in the recent devastating floods in Nepal,” Khadka wrote on Facebook on Wednesday evening.
Khadka said the series would convey a message of solidarity, compassion and friendship between Nepal and Bangladesh. He noted that the two countries share strong people-to-people ties as well as a mutual passion for cricket.
Khadka also expressed gratitude to the Bangladesh Cricket Board for its willingness to play the series. According to CAN, all three matches will be played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
