KATHMANDU: Vehicular movement along the Krishnabhir section of the Nagdhunga-Muglin road has resumed from today following the completion of a new track constructed to bypass the section damaged by floods.
The new track was opened along the Prithvi Highway after the original road section was blocked by flood-induced damage, disrupting traffic along the major route connecting Kathmandu with various parts of the country.
Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s Secretariat on Wednesday shared drone footage of Krishnabhir, confirming the completion of the track-opening work.
The road section had remained blocked since August 30, severely affecting the transportation of essential commodities, including food, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and fuel, to the Kathmandu Valley.
With vehicular movement now restored, authorities expect the transportation and supply of essential goods to the Valley to become easier and gradually return to normal.
