LPG sale and distribution to resume thru dealers from today

KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced that the sale and distribution of liquefied petroleum (LP) gas for cooking will resume through authorized dealers from today.

Issuing a notice on Sunday, the Corporation said that from August 17, LPG will be sold and distributed through the regular system by dealers appointed by the respective gas industries.

The Corporation has urged consumers in need of LPG cylinders to contact dealers of their choice and purchase gas through the regular distribution network. NOC has also issued a five-point directive aimed at making LPG distribution more systematic and effective.

Under the new arrangement, gas industries must provide the corporation with daily details of their appointed sellers and distributors, along with the number of cylinders sold, by 9 am each day.

Similarly, gas sellers and distributors are required to maintain daily records of the quantity of gas sold, the names of consumers and their contact numbers. These details must be submitted to the respective gas industries, which are required to forward them to NOC on the same day.

The Corporation has also directed that consumers using LPG for essential household purposes be given priority during sales and distribution. It has requested the concerned District Administration Offices, through the Ministry of Home Affairs, to facilitate the transportation and distribution of LPG from a security perspective.

Likewise, NOC has requested the Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection to deploy a joint monitoring team, including personnel assigned by the corporation, to oversee LPG distribution.

The Corporation has also asked consumers who are unable to obtain LPG from their nearest dealer and are in urgent need of a cylinder to contact its Quick Response Team (QRT) through the mobile numbers 9851455124 and 9851455128.
