Westerly winds bring partial clouds in hills, fog in Terai



KATHMANDU: Westerly winds are currently influencing weather patterns across Nepal, bringing partial cloud cover to the hilly and mountainous regions and foggy conditions in parts of the Terai, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

At present, there is partial cloud cover over the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, while the weather remains mainly clear in other parts of the country.

The Division stated that fog is likely to occur in some areas of the Terai region this morning until noon. This afternoon, the high hilly and Himalayan regions are expected to remain partly cloudy, with mainly clear weather elsewhere. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Tonight, cold conditions are expected in some parts of the Terai. The hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces will see partial cloud cover, while the rest of the country will experience mainly clear weather. There is also a chance of light rain and snowfall at one or two locations in the high hills and Himalayan areas of Gandaki Province, the Division added.
