Cyclist dies after being hit by tipper in Jhapa



BHADRAPUR: A cyclist died after being hit by a tipper in Bhadrapur, Jhapa.

According to the District Police Office, 65-year-old Ishanlal Ganesh of Jhapa Rural Municipality-3 died while undergoing treatment at B&C Hospital in Birtamod on Sunday morning.

Ganesh was seriously injured after being struck by the tipper on Saturday evening. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment, police said.

Police have arrested 36-year-old tipper driver Fagulal Rajbanshi of Kamatoli, Jhapa Rural Municipality-3, who had fled the scene following the accident.

Following news of Ganesh’s death, angry locals vandalised the tipper involved in the accident.
