Nepal crush USA by nine wickets as Kushal Bhurtel hits century



KATHMANDU: Kushal Bhurtel scored a magnificent unbeaten century as Nepal national cricket team defeated the United States national cricket team by nine wickets in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 196 runs, Nepal comfortably reached 196 for the loss of just one wicket in 36.4 overs at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground.

Opening batter Bhurtel remained unbeaten on 120 runs off 118 balls, smashing 13 fours and four sixes in a dominant innings.

Similarly, Aasif Sheikh contributed 58 runs from 72 deliveries, while Ishan Pandey added 20 runs off 30 balls.

For the USA, Mohammad Mohsin claimed the lone wicket.

Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat first at the TU ground in Kirtipur, the USA were bowled out for 195 runs in 43.3 overs.
