Oli urges supporters to vote and mobilize family for UML victory

JHAPA: CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has urged supporters to not only cast their own votes but also ensure that their family and close associates vote for the party, emphasizing that this is crucial for a decisive nationwide victory.

Speaking at a meeting with cooperative workers in Jhapa on Saturday night, Oli stressed the role of grassroots mobilization in strengthening UML’s electoral prospects.

“First, be clear yourself and think about the country. Cast your vote for the Sun symbol,” Oli said. “Then remind your relatives, neighbors, and everyone you know to vote for UML.”

He added, “Many people I meet say they support us. Right now, you need to do two things: vote yourself and ensure your family and close ones vote as well.”

Oli highlighted that his personal vote alone is insufficient and that a broader mobilization is required to achieve a “grand victory.” He urged professionals, business people, and citizens across sectors to contribute actively to expanding the party’s support base.

Oli also cited development works in Jhapa 5 during his tenure as key factors for electoral success. He noted that budget allocations for some local roads were cut after his government ended, delaying projects, but promised such delays would not persist.

Addressing cooperative activities, Oli reminded members that small savings and investments can improve people’s financial conditions. He warned against misuse of cooperative funds and stressed transparency. “Some people have misappropriated money saved by citizens. Make your cooperatives transparent and use investments to uplift people’s economic situation,” he said.

Oli emphasized that cooperatives are a critical pillar of Nepal’s economy and encouraged party workers to carry national and local development agendas to the public.

“With national and international circumstances not favorable, and everyone uniting against UML, we must demonstrate that UML is capable of breaking all encirclements,” he said.
