Five-year-old boy dies after being hit by mini-truck



KAILALI: A five-year-old boy died after being hit by a mini-truck in Jhil, Gauriganga Municipality-2, Kailali, today.

The boy, identified as Lekhraj Deuba, was walking along the East-West Highway when he was struck by the mini-truck. He was rushed to Maya Metro Hospital in Dhangadhi for treatment but died during treatment, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Hirasingh Mahar, chief of the Area Police Office, Malakheti.

Police said Deuba sustained serious head and chest injuries after being hit by the truck (Se 1 Ka 1352), which was travelling eastward from the west.

Police have taken the truck driver, 29-year-old Sunil Chaudhary of Lamkichuha Municipality-2, into custody. Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
