NC disciplinary committee seeks clarification from Purna Bahadur Khadka

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress Central Disciplinary Committee has sought clarification from former acting party president Purna Bahadur Khadka over the alleged misuse of the party’s letterhead.

In a decision taken on Wednesday, the committee directed Khadka to furnish a written explanation within seven days regarding the issuance of unauthorized statements using what it described as a fake party letterhead.

Khadka had earlier issued a statement using the party’s letterhead concerning the arrest of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.

Following the incident, a meeting of the disciplinary committee held on Chaitra 18 had warned Khadka not to issue statements in the capacity of acting president.

However, on Monday, Khadka again released a statement as acting president opposing a decision related to the renewal of active party membership.

The Nepali Congress subsequently convened a meeting of the Central Disciplinary Committee to discuss the matter.

A party leader said the meeting would decide whether to seek clarification from Khadka or take further action.

“No final decision has been made yet. It will be known only after discussions in the meeting, but some form of decision is expected,” the leader said.
