Kulman Ghising-led party prioritizes health sector in manifesto

KATHMANDU: The Ujyalo Nepal Party, led by Kulman Ghising, has prioritized the health sector in its manifesto for the upcoming election.

The party has pledged commitments ranging from free treatment services to expanded mental health care and the provision of specialist doctors at the local level.

According to the manifesto, every citizen would be entitled to free treatment through designated health institutions. The party has also announced targeted programs for women and children affected by malnutrition.

To expand healthcare access in remote and rural areas, the party plans to operate mobile clinics and telemedicine services.

Giving special priority to mental health, the party has committed to ensuring psychosocial counseling services in every ward. In light of the growing prevalence of mental health issues, it aims to make such services accessible at the community level.

The manifesto also includes plans to expand specialist services at primary health centers and local health institutions. It pledges to appoint at least one specialist doctor in each local level, including orthopedic, gynecology, and pediatric specialists, enabling citizens to receive quality and accessible care locally.

Through these programs, the Ujyalo Nepal Party aims to bring healthcare services within reach of all citizens, prioritize rural and remote populations, and strengthen the overall health system.
