Birgunj Customs collects Rs 135 billion in seven months



BIRGUNJ: The Birgunj Customs Office has collected Rs 135.48 billion in revenue during the first seven months of the current fiscal year.

Although the office had set a target of Rs 153.84 billion for this period, it achieved 88.07 percent of its target. According to Uday Singh Bista, Information Officer at the Birgunj Customs Office, revenue collection has been encouraging over the seven-month period.

The office collected Rs 18.44 billion in Shrawan, Rs 20.73 billion in Bhadra, and Rs 19.90 billion in Asoj. Similarly, collections stood at Rs 17.33 billion in Kartik, Rs 20.80 billion in Mangsir, and Rs 20.20 billion in Poush. For Magh, the office had targeted Rs 21.29 billion but managed Rs 18.90 billion in revenue.

The Customs Department has set an annual revenue target of Rs 273.39 billion for the Birgunj Customs Office.
