Gagan Thapa unanimously elected Nepali Congress President



KATHMANDU: Gagan Thapa has been unanimously elected President of the Nepali Congress (NC) at the party’s second Special General Convention held in Kathmandu.

Similarly, Bishwaprakash Sharma and Pushpa Bhusal have been unanimously elected as Vice Presidents, while Guru Ghimire and Pradeep Paudel have been appointed General Secretaries.

Meanwhile, the following leaders have been unanimously elected as joint general secretaries representing various communities: Uday Shumsher Rana (Khas Arya), Prakash Rasaili ‘Snehi’ (Dalit), Muktakumari Yadav (Madhesi), Dila Sangraula (Women), Farmulla Mansoor (Muslim), Yogendra Chaudhary (Tharu), Karna Bahadur Budha (Backward region), and Bahadur Singh Lama (Indigenous Peoples).
