Teej symbolizes respect for women, equality and social transformation: Chief Minister Acharya



DANG: Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya has said that Haritalika Teej symbolizes respect for women, equality and social transformation.

Issuing a message of best wishes on the occasion of Teej today, Chief Minister Acharya said the festival has evolved into an important platform for Nepali women to express their feelings, experiences and voices.

He said Teej is helping raise awareness about women’s rights, equality, social justice, women’s empowerment and social transformation.

Highlighting the invaluable contribution of women to family, society and nation-building, Chief Minister Acharya stressed the need to end all forms of discrimination, violence, injustice and inequality against women.

He expressed the belief that Teej would inspire everyone to collectively raise awareness against harmful customs, superstitions, violence, discrimination and inequality in society.

Chief Minister Acharya also urged people to discourage unnecessary pomp and excessive expenditure while preserving the originality and cultural dignity of Teej.
