Gagan Thapa pledges support for education of children of Sarlahi self-immolation victim



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has pledged to support the education and upbringing of the children of Sarlahi resident Bibek Mandal, who died while undergoing treatment after attempting self-immolation.

Mandal, a 35-year-old resident of Sisautiya in Godaita Municipality-10 of Sarlahi, died at 2:40 am on Tuesday during treatment. Expressing deep sorrow over Mandal’s death, President Thapa extended condolences to the bereaved family.

Thapa said he stands with the grieving family during this difficult time and has already informed them of his commitment to provide continued support for the education and future of Mandal’s children.

“During this sorrowful moment, I pay heartfelt tribute to late Vivek Mandal and extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved family,” Thapa said. “I stand with the family during this difficult time. I have already informed the family of my commitment to provide continuous support for the education and upbringing of late Vivek Mandal’s children.”
