Man arrested for defrauding victim with fake Hungary job offer



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a 56-year-old man on charges of defrauding an individual by promising overseas employment in Hungary with attractive salary benefits.

The accused, Mahesh Tamang of Kalinchok Rural Municipality–4, Dolakha, currently residing in Gokarneshwor Municipality–8, was apprehended from Kathmandu Metropolitan City–12 on Friday.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Tamang allegedly collected Rs 300,000 from a victim under the pretext of sending him to Hungary for foreign employment.

Acting on a complaint filed by the victim, a police team launched an investigation and arrested the suspect.

Police said Tamang has been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment for further investigation and necessary legal action.
