HETAUDA: A truck was swept away by floodwaters in Karra Khola of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-17 on Monday morning, leaving the driver injured.
The empty 12-wheeler truck (Na 7 Kha 765) was returning after unloading limestone at Shivam Cement Industry when it got trapped in the flooded river.
The driver, 34-year-old Deepak Thing of Ratnanagar Municipality-13 in Chitwan, sustained injuries in the incident.
Although the flood carried away the truck, Thing managed to escape by swimming to safety. He suffered a serious injury to his leg and is currently receiving treatment at a medical facility in Hetauda.
