Hearing on controversy over Sah’s candidacy on Sunday



KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing for coming Sunday on the case involving Kishori Sah, the candidate representing the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) from Dhanusha constituency no. 1.

The hearing was earlier scheduled to be conducted by a division bench of Justices Sharanga Subedi and Tek Prasad Dhungana on Friday. However, due to Justice Subedi’s inability to preside over the hearing on Sah’s case, it has been postponed until Sunday. Subedi had issued an interim order in a separate case involving Sah on Thursday.

The Election Commission announced the cancellation of Sah’s candidacy on March 3, citing his blacklisted status at the Credit Information Centre.

In response to the Commission’s decision, Sah filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court, leading to a temporary halt to the enforcement of the decision to blacklist him.
