Actor Deepa Shree Niraula undergoes successful brain tumour surgery

KATHMANDU: Nepali actor and filmmaker Deepa Shree Niraula has undergone successful surgery after being diagnosed with a brain tumour, actor Deepak Raj Giri said on Sunday.

According to Giri, the tumour was detected during the shooting of a film earlier this week, prompting doctors to recommend immediate surgery.

The operation was performed at Annapurna Neuro Hospital in Maitighar by neurosurgeon Dr. Basanta Pant.

Giri said the team had received suggestions to seek treatment in India but ultimately decided to proceed with surgery in Nepal under the care of Dr. Pant.

“The surgery was successfully completed, and she has now been shifted from the intensive care unit to the general ward, where she is recovering,” Giri said in a social media post.

He also thanked well-wishers for their prayers and expressed gratitude to the medical team involved in Niraula’s treatment.
