Squatters staging a protest at Maitighar in Kathmandu on Sunday.
KATHMANDU: The United National Squatters’ Front has staged a protest at Maitighar in Kathmandu, accusing the government of evicting squatters without making adequate resettlement arrangements.
The protest intensified after floodwaters entered a temporary holding centre in Kirtipur on Saturday morning, forcing displaced families to evacuate. Demonstrators also expressed anger over the detention of a Gen-Z activist later the same day.
