Moderate rain with thunder expected today



KATHMANDU: The country is expected to experience generally unstable weather conditions today as multiple atmospheric systems remain active over Nepal.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division, has said that westerly and local winds, along with low-pressure areas affecting eastern and central regions, are influencing the current weather pattern.

The division has forecast mostly cloudy conditions over the hills and mountains of Koshi Province and other provinces, while the Terai region will see partly cloudy skies.

It has also warned of the possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with isolated rainfall or snowfall expected in other mountainous and hilly regions. A few locations in the Terai may also receive light to moderate rain with thunder.
