World Bank launches Nepal Fiscal Dashboard



KATHMANDU: The World Bank has launched Nepal Fiscal Dashboard on Thursday. At a programme, the dashboard was launched with an objective of providing information related to Nepal’s public financial management.

Financial information related with federation, provinces and local levels would be available in the dashboard. Major financial data could be received in an integrated and smooth manner in the dashboard.

According to the WB, data related to income, expenditure and financial management of federation, provinces and local levels would be available in the dashboard. Similarly, such data could be analyzed from different angles.

Such platform was prepared after consulting government, civil society and development partners, added the WB. The users should go through the WB’s website and get necessary data from this platform. Budget of different fiscal year, revenue, current and capital expenditures as well as data related to financial management could be analyzed from it.

On the occasion, Under-Secretary at Finance Ministry, Hikmat Bahadur Bhandari, shared such informative panel is very useful. The government is for improving public financial management with similar scheme within a year.

Similarly, former Vice-Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Shiva Raj Adhikari, viewed the dashboard would be useful for bodies concerned, policy maker, researchers, journalists and students. One can view the dashboard in WB’s website.

Likewise, WB’s Public Sector Specialist Yoshihiro Saito expected that the platform would be beneficial for many people. It could be advanced further based on suggestions in coming days.
