Nepal face Italy in second ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match today



KATHMANDU: Nepal are set to face Italy in their second match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 today, aiming to register their first win of the tournament.

The match between Nepal and Italy will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India, starting at 3:15 pm.

Nepal suffered a narrow four-run defeat against England in their opening match. Chasing a target of 185 runs, Nepal managed 180 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Nepal are scheduled to play four group-stage matches in India.

Despite featuring in the World Cup twice before, Nepal have yet to progress beyond the group stage.

All of Nepal’s matches in this edition of the World Cup are being held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Placed in Group C, Nepal opened their campaign against England. The group also includes two-time champions West Indies, former champions England, along with Scotland and Italy.

Scotland secured their place in the tournament based on ICC rankings after Bangladesh declined to play the World Cup in India.
