KATHMANDU: The government has announced that the assets of senior government officials will now be made public on an annual basis.
The decision was included in the policy and programme for the upcoming fiscal year presented by President Ram Chandra Poudel during a joint session of Parliament on Monday.
Until now, public officials were required to submit their asset declarations to the government each year, but these records were not made public.
Under the new policy, the government aims to increase transparency and accountability in public service by publishing the asset details of high-ranking employees on a regular basis.
Officials say the move is intended to strengthen good governance and improve public trust in state institutions.
