Govt pledges long-term solution to landless squatters’ issue



KATHMANDU: The government has announced that it will provide a long-term solution to the problems faced by landless squatters.

Presenting the government’s policies and programmes during the joint session of the Federal Parliament on Monday, Ram Chandra Poudel made the announcement.

While unveiling the policy document, he said the government would introduce programmes aimed at ensuring long-term settlement arrangements for squatters through reforms related to land and settlement laws.

He further stated that the issues faced by landless Dalits, squatters, and unmanaged settlers living in unsafe areas would be addressed through proper and secure housing management as part of a long-term solution.
