CAN approves NPL financial reports, announces annual cricket awards



KATHMANDU: Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has approved the financial reports of the first and second editions of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

The financial statements were unanimously endorsed during CAN’s general assembly held in Biratnagar on Sunday.

The cricket governing body also decided to distribute Rs 200,000 each to 45 district cricket associations from the revenue generated through the Nepal Premier League.

The annual general assembly further decided to launch the “CAN Annual Awards” beginning this December.

The awards will include categories for best male player, best female player, best youth player, lifetime achievement, and “Moment of the Year.”

The assembly also approved the annual audit report for the fiscal year 2081/82 and endorsed CAN’s annual programs, action plans and budget for 2026.

In addition, the central working committee has been authorized to adjust programs and budgets if additional events or activities are introduced by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) or the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The general assembly also decided to provide “score card grants” to district cricket associations based on the programs they conduct.
