KATHMANDU: By 7 p.m. on the first day of the Nepali Congress’s second special general convention, 62.04% of delegates had signed in support of the convention. This marks the number of delegates who have registered to participate so far.
The convention is being organized by the pro-special convention group led by General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma.
On the first day, registration of delegates has been taking place across eight registration “stalls,” and the process is still ongoing, according to Yubaraj Pandey, coordinator of the focal person committee for the district-level special convention.
The inauguration of the convention was presided over by Krishna Baniya, the chair of Nepali Congress Kathmandu, with General Secretaries Thapa and Sharma jointly leading the opening session.
