Leaders urge party President to address closed session

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Deputy General Secretary Farmulla Mansoor has requested party president Sher Bahadur Deuba to attend and address the closed session scheduled for the next day of the ongoing special general convention, urging him to strengthen party unity.

Speaking at the convention in Bhrikutimandap, leader Surendra Chaudhary expressed confidence that the special convention would resolve all issues within the party.

Central member Mahesh Acharya said the convention sends a clear message that it must proceed in accordance with party statutes and has challenged tendencies within the party to ignore others’ viewpoints.

Leader Dr. Chandra Bhandari emphasized that party leaders must respect the nation and its people while addressing the demands and issues raised by the youth.

Leader Binod Chaudhary noted that Nepali citizens are awaiting political stability and economic transformation, urging Congress to carefully consider and address their demands.

Leader Dev Raj Chalise highlighted that the special convention is not only linked to the party’s internal affairs but also connected to the broader Gen-Z movement and the transformation of the country.

Leader Kedar Karki added that the sentiments of the Gen-Z generation, who rebelled against leadership that ignored the people’s voice, must be acknowledged and addressed by a democratic party and its experienced leaders.
