Cannot begin a new journey with the old approach: Bishwa Prakash Sharma

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said that the party can no longer move forward by following old methods.

Speaking at the party’s special general convention, Sharma said that those in leadership, including himself as general secretary, must take responsibility for the shortcomings in party management and move ahead with a new approach.

“As general secretaries, we also take responsibility for the weaknesses within the party. That is why we have acknowledged that a new journey cannot begin with the old way of thinking,” he said. “A new situation has emerged in the country, and to face this reality and create new circumstances, it is not possible to move forward with an old mindset.”

Sharma added that politics, like nature, experiences changes in seasons, and leadership must have the capacity to understand such shifts. He said that after recognizing the changing political climate, they are determined to move forward by adapting to the new conditions rather than clinging to outdated practices.
