As Gagan–Bishwa camp nears majority, Deuba calls close aides for discussion

KATHMANDU: As signatures from a majority of convention delegates near completion at the Nepali Congress special general convention, party president Sher Bahadur Deuba has called leaders close to him for consultations.

While the special general convention is underway at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu, Deuba invited party office bearers and leaders aligned with him to his residence in Maharajgunj for discussions.

According to sources, Deuba called the meeting after it became clear that the special general convention side was close to securing a majority. The discussion is believed to be focused on deciding the next course of action in response to the evolving situation at the convention.
