Heavy rain inundates Jaleshwor

JALESWOR: Heavy rainfall inundated Jaleshwar, the district headquarters of Mahottari, disrupting traffic and affecting daily life.

Following about one and a half hours of continuous torrential rain, large parts of the town were submerged, with one to three feet of water accumulating on major roads and hampering vehicular movement.

Residents blamed the flooding on the lack of an effective urban drainage system. Floodwaters mixed with garbage spread across several roads, creating additional sanitation concerns.

The Hanuman Temple at Mahendra Chowk, a prominent landmark in Jaleshwar, was also inundated.

Similarly, the Rajdevi Temple in Jaleshwar Municipality-2 has been affected by the flooding, with rising water posing a risk of entering the temple’s inner sanctum.
