CDC holds workshop on effective implementation of school curriculum



KATHMANDU: The Curriculum Development Centre (CDC) has organized a workshop aimed at strengthening the effective implementation of the school curriculum as part of efforts to revise the National Curriculum Framework.

The workshop, titled Curriculum and Its Effective Implementation: Experience Sharing Workshop, brought together around 50 participants, including members of the National Curriculum Framework review task force, officials from the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Education and Human Resource Development Centre, Education Review Office, CDC officials, school principals and teachers recognized for best practices.

Inaugurating the event, CDC Director General Yubaraj Poudel stressed the importance of sharing experiences, challenges and successful practices to improve the quality of school education.

Education and Sports Secretary Chudamani Poudel outlined the government’s policy direction for school education and priorities for curriculum reform.

Participants were divided into thematic groups to discuss issues related to Youth Voice, Book-Free Friday, Nepal’s education system, A-Level, the IB Continuum and CBSE schools. The discussions focused on current practices, challenges, policy needs and recommendations for improvement.

During the afternoon panel discussion, Dr. Labdev Awasthi, Dr. Hari Lamsal, Dr. Bishwabala Thapa and Dr. Lekhnath Poudel shared their experiences on curriculum implementation, policy reforms and the future transformation of school education.

Concluding the workshop, Dr. Meenakshi Dahal and Prof. Dr. Balchandra Luitel presented the key findings and recommendations, expressing confidence that such exchanges would contribute to improving the quality of school education, promoting evidence-based policymaking and enhancing the effective implementation of the curriculum.
