Pakistan Embassy in Kathmandu observes Marka-e-Haq Day

KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu observed Marka-e-Haq Day today, with solemnity and national pride. Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Abrar H Hashmi, hoisted the national flag during a dignified ceremony attended by embassy officials, members of the Pakistani community, their families, and friends of Pakistan.

Messages from Pakistan’s leadership were also read on the occasion. In his message, President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari said Marka-e-Haq demonstrated to the world that Pakistan’s deterrence is not merely a slogan, but is rooted in professional competence, tri-service coordination, and the resolve of a nation that refuses to bow to aggression. He paid tribute to the country’s armed forces and honoured the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in his message, described Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq as a day to express gratitude to Almighty Allah for His countless blessings. He said the day commemorates Pakistan’s courageous response in difficult times and the defeat inflicted upon the enemy, according to a statement issued by the Embassy.

He also paid tribute to the martyrs, their families, and the ghazis who defended the homeland with courage and determination. According to the prime minister, the coordinated response of Pakistan’s forces across land, sea, air, and cyber domains demonstrated the country’s strength and unity.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, in his message, said the events of the past year underscored that lasting peace in South Asia cannot be achieved without addressing core issues, particularly the resolution of Jammu and Kashmir in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of its people.

He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace, dialogue, diplomacy, and resolving disputes through justice and mutual respect.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Hashmi paid tribute to the courage, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s Armed Forces for their timely actions in defending the country’s sovereignty through Marka-e-Haq. He also praised the resilience and unity of the people of Pakistan in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He said Marka-e-Haq symbolises Pakistan’s resolve, national unity, and steadfast commitment, adding that size alone does not determine a nation’s strength or determination when defending its sovereignty against aggression.
