KATHMANDU: A task force of the CPN-UML has entrusted its coordinator and Vice-Chair Ram Bahadur Thapa and General Secretary Shankar Pokharel with finalizing a report on party purification, strengthening, transformation, and restructuring based on suggestions collected from across the country.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the task force at the party’s central office in Chyasal on Thursday after concluding that the nationwide feedback campaign, conducted at 13 locations, had been successfully completed. UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli also attended the meeting.
According to UML Publicity and Publications Department chief Niraj Acharya, the report, incorporating opinions, recommendations, and conclusions gathered during the campaign, will serve as an important basis for shaping the party’s future ideological, political, and organizational direction.
He said the report will be submitted to the party leadership once it is finalized.
The task force was formed to review the party’s post-election performance, revitalize the organization, and adapt it to changing political circumstances. As part of the campaign, it held direct interactions with party leaders, cadres, elected representatives, representatives of affiliated organizations, and supporters across the country.
According to the task force, most of the suggestions focused on party purification, organizational strengthening, leadership development, improving working style, and strengthening the party’s relationship with the public.
The meeting also thanked provincial, district, and concerned party committees for supporting the feedback campaign and expressed appreciation to leaders, cadres, supporters, and stakeholders who actively participated and provided constructive suggestions.
The UML said the recommendations received from across the country would serve as an important foundation for preparing the party’s future restructuring plan, with reform programs to be implemented in a systematic manner after the report is finalized.
