KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has once again revised the schedule for its lower-level conventions under the party’s 15th General Convention.
A meeting of the Central Election Committee held at the party’s central office in Sanepa on Tuesday decided to amend the previously announced schedule.
Under the revised schedule, the rural municipality and municipality-level conventions will be held on September 19 and 20. The Election Committee said the conventions may be held on either of the two days depending on local circumstances.
The party had previously revised the schedule to hold ward-level conventions on September 9. Under the latest schedule, the rural municipality and municipality-level conventions will be held on September 23, while the provincial assembly constituency and House of Representatives constituency conventions will be held on September 26.
The Election Committee, however, has not revised the date of the central general convention.
According to Senior Advocate Prem Bahadur Khadka, coordinator of the Central Election Committee, the Nepali Congress’s central general convention will still be held from October 2 to 5 as decided earlier.
