Suraj Shakya appointed Kathmandu Valley Development Authority chief



KATHMANDU: The government has appointed Suraj Shakya as the Development Commissioner of the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority.

Government spokesperson and Education Minister Sasmit Pokharel informed that the decision was taken by the Cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singha Durbar on Wednesday.

The Cabinet also approved the operation of Geta Hospital in Kailali as the teaching hospital of Shaheed Dashrath Chand Health Science University.

According to Minister Pokharel, the meeting approved the Foreign Educational Programme Operation and Regulation Rules and the Educational Consultancy, Language Teaching and Preparation Class Operation and Management Rules.

The Cabinet also endorsed the Prison Rules and the Sixth National Action Plan on Human Rights.

Likewise, the government approved the Second Anti-Corruption Strategic Plan, among other decisions.

Minister Pokharel made public the decisions of Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting.
